Below are some do’s and don’ts that the team at Foster Dental Care put together for expectant moms.
Do: Continue to brush twice and floss at least once daily
Do: Schedule a dental visit for your 6-month cleaning during your first trimester. This way you can establish a dental plan for the rest of your pregnancy
Don’t: Take routine elective x-rays during pregnancy (if these types of x-rays can be avoided, it is recommended)
Don’t: Participate in cosmetic procedures such as tooth whitening during your pregnancy
Do: Eat foods that contain calcium, protein, phosphorous and vitamins A, C and D. These nutrients are not only great for you, but they can help the development of your unborn child’s teeth
Do: Call your dentist if you have questions about your oral health
Do: Always follow your physician’s advice regarding diet during pregnancy
